About us
01 | OUR MISSION
The Winterthur-based Crisis Intervention Switzerland Foundation developed from the Stiftung Begleitung in Leid und Trauer (Foundation for Support with Suffering and Grief), established more than 35 years ago. The Crisis Intervention Switzerland Foundation assumed all its areas of business with effect from 1 January 2011. The foundation’s purpose remains unchanged: to support and guide traumatised people and their families.
As a foundation we are not obliged to make profits and accrue assets, but day-to-day business should be self-supporting.
The Crisis Intervention Switzerland Foundation’s charitable services are provided for society by offering free support to individuals affected by extraordinary events, if victim support or therapy are not possible.

Strategic leadership of the foundation lies with the foundation board. Until the end of the term of office in 2026, it consists of

Beatrice Höhn holds the position of managing director.
The foundation board and managing director provide accounts which are published in the annual report and audited by an independent auditor.
03 | HOW WE WORK
We provide rapid, professional, straightforward counselling, guidance and support to you before, during and after difficult situations.
How we organise our services adapts to the individual needs of those seeking help and the circumstances. Our team consists of trained emergency psychologists, social workers and specialists with experience of working in psychosocial crises.
Our approach
- We help you to utilise your own resources
- We offer and negotiate external help; we are there to advise and support you
- We do this for as long as you want
- You retain control and take the decisions
We can provide support by telephone or in person, wherever you are, or at our offices. We are available 24 hours per day for our contract clients.
