Other sources of help
Immediate intervention is necessary if there is an acute risk of suicide or behaviour that is dangerous and divorced from reality. Call an ambulance – 144 or the police – 117!
Call the emergency services on 144 for acute psychiatric emergencies, (such as a suicide attempt or psychosis)
If other people are in serious danger: call the police on 117

Services for children/young people – 147
147 provides support for young people whether they have big or little worries, problems or questions.
- It provides a free, confidential service 24 hours per day, via telephone, chat, text message or e-mail. Their website provides more information and advice on topics of concern to young people. Answers to questions that young people have brought to us.
Counselling services
Winterthur Crisis Intervention Centre (KIZ)
KIZ helps those affected to come to terms quickly with their crisis, so that
- what triggered it and the reasons for the crisis become clearer
- targeted, appropriate support can be organised and/or treatment commenced
- further solutions to stabilise the person affected and support their personal development can be addressed
KIZ offers short-term, acute assistance, not therapy.

Crisis Intervention Centre (KIZ) (PUK), Zurich
KIZ’s in-patient service is staffed 24/7, 365 days per year.
It can be contacted round the clock for referrals, triage or brief consultations. This service is free of charge.
Outpatient appointments are offered on weekdays, during office hours and in the early evening, by arrangement.

Wil crisis and emergency centre is for exceptional emotional reactions, such as panic attacks, nervous breakdowns and acute reactions to stress, in other words, a crisis. Please contact Krisenintervention Wil direct. Rapid support from a specialist is crucial, but there will also be time for explanations and preparation.

Krisenintervention St. Gallen (St. Gallen Crisis Intervention)
People who are experiencing a crisis or who believe they can’t go on any longer can contact the St. Gallen crisis intervention team via the 24-hour hotline, or be referred by a doctor. The team at this 20-bed centre can be contacted at any time via the 24-hour hotline and consists of doctors, psychologists, social workers, specialist nurses, occupational therapists and dance movement therapists. Together with you, we will seek solutions, counsel you and provide you with suggestions on what to do next.
