Individuals

We guide and support people who have had a traumatic experience or are in a situation they are unable to cope with alone. As a foundation, we are able to provide free counselling to individuals. We are here for individuals, children, couples and families.

01  |  We are here for you

We offer support in situations such as:

  • Death of a child, partner or person close to you
  • Death/suicide in the family or at work
  • Victim of or witness to a serious accident
  • Serious illness or injury of a loved one (child, parent, partner)
  • Experience of potentially traumatic events
  • 02  |  Objectives

With the help of a specialist you will gain an overview and room to address the problem or take the next steps.

Our services are low key, straightforward and intended to provide rapid support. To us, it is important that you retain control of events and take decisions yourself.

03  |  What happens during counselling

You contact Crisis Intervention Switzerland and explain your concerns.

Depending on your preference, we offer telephone or virtual counselling or arrange an appointment for counselling at our offices. In exceptional circumstances (e.g. provide support to a whole family in the event of a death) we can also see you at your home.

We are there for individuals or families for as long as you need us. Our objective is to provide you with support for your situation and bolster your own resources.

    04  | Fees

The first counselling session (usually 3-5 hours) is free for individuals. The foundations bears the costs because it can offer this service thanks to income, donations and grants.
In our experience, one such session is usually enough.

    05  |  Counselling team

We are a team of experienced specialists and psychologists with advanced training in emergency psychology. As a rule you will be guided by one person throughout the whole of your counselling. We may also bring in other team members to give you the best possible support.

Crisis Intervention psychologists are subject to a duty of confidentiality. This means that unless you give us permission, we will not inform anyone else about your counselling.

The exceptions are if the person we are counselling or third parties are in danger, or if the person receiving counselling plans to harm themselves or others.
